MAVS AT WESBURY

WOW!!!!
We just got back from Westbury..it's
a little past 2:30 am. We arrived
about 6.The guys hadn't arrived
yet.
Jim went in to watch Martina
while I hung around the bus area. My luck is holding out. The bus arrived
about 8. Robert was the first one off.He came right over to me and
two other people waiting with me. He signed autographs and posed
for a few pics.Minutes later Raul got off the bus,I gave a yell and
he turned & walked over to us,as well. I gave him a birthday
kiss as well as a hug.
He remembered me from Oakdale
several days ago & hepling me to gather up my purse when I dropped
it in a flustered situation. I had brought with me a translation of Volver.
I asked him to read it over to see if it was accurate.It was.He signed
that for me.He posed for a pic with me which Robbie,his guitar guy,took
for me.nick also came over for a few minutes.
I then went into the theater
for the last few songs of Martina's set.
After a short intermission allowing
time to set -up for the guys,the part of the
night I was there to see was
about to start. Robert was wearing the same suit
he wore at Oakdale.Very colorful
blue and orange velvet. The show was good
but Oakdale was still the best
. Only one encore but that ithe best
rendition of Volver,I have ever
heard Raul do. I melted during this one.
I did manage to throw the Scooby
Doos on stage and Robert laughed. He
placed them on the piano &
took them with him when he left the stage.
We hung around by the bus like
last time but this time only Robert came
over.They didn't hang around
long this time either.The bus started up
and off they went. We followed
the bus till it turned into the Garden City
Hotel. We then continued on
our way home.
As always,it was a wonderful
evening.Being able to get close to Raul
always makes it extra special!!!
