I know Antoon has already done a review of the Amsterdam concert, but I thought that I'd write one just to let everyone know how great the concert was!

First of all, it was nice to see Antoon, Dionza and Gert-Jan!

The show started at about 9.30pm. As soon as the guys walked on stage, the crowd went wild!!! JD was wearing a green suit with a yellow shirt, Jaime was wearing a purple suit and a white shirt, Raul was wearing a dark suit and a gold tie (He seems to like gold at the moment!), Robert was wearing a dark blue pin-stripe suit, Paul was wearing a dark suit and a white shirt and Nick was wearing.... Guys can you help? I can't remember what Nick was wearing!!
Anyway enough of the fashion review...Let's talk about the concert!
They opened with "Dance the night away" and the audience was already under the Mavericks'spell!! They sang the first 6 songs of Trampoline and then the guys left the stage and left Raul sing "Dream River". Gosh what a song, what a voice, what a whistle!!!
Then they came back and they did "Blue Moon". Fantastic!
And then they did (not in order) "it's not unusual", "A man without love", "Here comes the rain", "what a crying shame", "All you ever do is bring me down", "there goes my heart", "Volver Volver"...Talking about it, it was the first time I heard it and gosh, it's great!!!! (I know it's on the B-side of a single...Would anybody have it and make me a copy?? PLEASE!!!!)
They ended the show with "La Mucura" and like everyone else in the audience I wanted more!!!
But I suppose all good things have got to end....

After the show, Robert, Nick and Paul went to see the fans which I thought was great!
I've just read all the comments about M&Gs... Well I do understand that after a 2 hour show, the guys don't want to mix with the crowd and need a rest, especially that some people are a bit too "aggressive" with them if you see what I mean. They grab them and don't even care whether they physically hurt them or not....
That's why I think there should be new rules for the M&G. I think stopping them would be a real mistake. And I am sure the guys know it too.
So gang, I think we should come up with some ideas, because I am a bit worried about the Mavs' future if they stop doing M&G.
Maybe they could do what Elton John does : before the concert he meets up people from his fan club only. They all have to wear a pass and can't be accompanied by anyone else and they all meet up backstage for about 1 hour or so... Maybe the guys should do that.

Anyway it was a great concert and all I've got to say is "Congratulations!".
I am going to 5 other concerts : 3 in London, 1 in Warwick and 1 in Ipswich... I shall tell you all about them!

Take care,

Stephanie
